London last week was home to a symbolic event for Russian culture. British critics voted the Bolshoi Ballet the best overseas theatre company. Moreover, the task of presenting the award to this time-honoured theatre fell to Irina Kolesnikova, Prima Ballerina of the non state-owned ballet company of Konstantin Tachkin from Russia’s northern capital, Saint Petersburg.
