Stars of SPBT Gala will not include the performance of Chopiniana.>/b> This piece will be replaced with Act 2 Giselle.
The reason for this is because we have been contacted by the Fokine Estate via Berlin Associates in London to say royalties are due to be paid on this work. SPBT and Mariinsky perform this work in Russia and there is never any royalty demand, so we are investigating the situation of payment when the work is performed in the UK. SPBT is of course ready to pay any royalty due on any work they perform, when there is no doubt at all that the rights are payable.
