The Konstantin Tachkin Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre (SPBT) is to give six extra performances in France.
From January to April 2013 the Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre with whom the French public has had a long and close acquaintance will continue its European tour. The first two weeks provoked such huge interest that the theatre management has taken the decision to add a further six performances to the tour schedule. Two of them, a matinee and an evening performance of Swan Lake, will take place on 1st April at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
The role of Odette - Odile will be danced by the SPBT’s Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova whose signature piece it can truly be considered. However, Irina has had some success and found pleasure in sharing her experience with other soloists – with Anna Samostrelova who is also performing the main female role and with Mikhail Tkachuk who is dancing Prince Siegfried. Ekaterina Geraskina, Dmitriy Akulinin, Dmitry Rudachenko, Dymchik Saykeev and the other soloists and dancers will captivate the hearts of French audiences with their artistry. There will be nearly 70 performances in Italy and the whole of France from north to south including Lille, Le Havre, Biarritz, Nantes, Lyon, Grenoble, Bordeaux, Limoges, Toulon, Nice, Marseille… and, of course, Paris.
The tour will conclude on 10th April in Montpellier. In total SPBT are planning to give more than 100 performances in France this season to no less than 180 thousand people.
