The Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre (SPBT) has a Christmas present ready for Turkish audiences because it will be touring in Istanbul from 19th to 21st December. For three evenings in a row the ballet going public will be able to enjoy renowned classical ballets performed in the best traditions of the Russian ballet school. SPBT will be performing 2 ballets, Swan Lake and La Bayadère, both of which have long since adorned SPBT’s repertoire.
On 19th and 21st December Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova is planning to dance the role of Odette/Odile. This will be her first performance since the birth of her daughter. On 20th December in the TIM SHOW CENTRE La Bayadère will be performed with SPBT soloists Anna Samostrelova and Dmitry Akulinin dancing the main roles.
