Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s first touring season in 2015 will commence in Finland. On 1 and 2 January its artists will perform for Finish audiences in Imatra. These 2 evenings will be filled with Tchaikovsky’s timeless music for the company will be performing before Finnish connoisseurs of classical choreography the ballet “Swan Lake” which has been in the theatre’s repertoire since 1996. The lead roles of Odette/Odile and Prince Siegfried will be performed by Anna Samostrelova and Liudmila Mezinova and Dmitry Akulinin and Yurii Mirov respectively.

On 3 January 2015 in Tampere Hall, one of Finland’s best concert venues with 1800 seats, 2 performances of “Swan Lake” will take place in quick succession with the theatre’s Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova in the lead role. Initially only 1 performance was planned for this day with Irina dancing Odette/Odile, but increased interest from the Finnish ballet going public has required the addition of an extra performance of a ballet which has become the ballerina’s signature piece.
