The success enjoyed by the Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre (SPBT) tour demonstrates the necessity of adding performances when necessary. The Parisian public is looking forward to the inimitable Odette-Odile performed by Irina Kolesnikova, SPBT’s Prima ballerina. This role is rightly considered to be the ballerina’s visiting card. The world’s critics, including the French critics, have remarked upon Irina’s brilliant individuality and perfect technique. Her dancing is “fascinating and palpable with her inner feelings expressed as much by her physical suppleness as by her communicative eyes”. “Kolesnikova’s Odette is full of emotion and replete with feminine magnetism. Her Odile is the very image of a bewitching queen with a unique aura”. The list of complimentary quotations goes on and on, but an audience prefers to trust its own feelings. On 1st April at the Palais de Congrès there will be 2 extra performances of “Swan Lake”, a matinee and an evening performance. The evening show will sparkle with Irina Kolesnikova’s performance and the matinee will be danced by the lead soloist Anna Samostrelova who now also has her own followers in France.
Can we also remind you that the Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre will finish their European tour on 10 April in Montpellier. The company will then have a short rest after which they are expected in South Africa where they will spend three weeks in Johannesburg and then on to Perth, Australia for ten days. Then home to Saint Petersburg where the Saint Petersburg summer season begins. The theatre has big plans for 2014 and further details can be found on their website.

All tickets for the evening performance in Bergen are sold out.
